[WEBINAR] OCR Privacy | Proposed Modifications to the HIPAA Privacy Rule: Key Points & Lessons Learned From History

Wednesday, May 19th from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM EST

Register for Session

Join CORL Technologies and EHNAC as they welcome David Holtzman, Principal at HITprivacy and previous Sr. Health Information Technology and Privacy Specialist for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR) as he shares a review on the proposed changes to the HIPAA Privacy Rule and current perspectives on HIPAA/HITECH activities.

In December 2020, OCR issued a Notice of Proposed Rule Making entitled “HHS Proposes Modifications to the HIPAA Privacy Rule to Empower Patients, Improve Coordinated Care, and Reduce Regulatory Burdens”.

These proposed changes to HIPAA Privacy Rule support individuals’ engagement in their care, remove barriers to coordinated care, and reduce regulatory burdens on the health care industry. The changes are also part of the ongoing shift to value-based care and align with 21st Century Cures Interoperability measures.

Given the proposed changes, can you and your organization answer these questions?

  • What does my organization have to do to comply with these changes when they are finalized?
  • Have you taken the time to review the proposed changes and make sure the operational areas in your organization understand not only how they work now, but how they may have to change in the near future?
  • Do you have information about previous HIPAA Privacy Lessons Learned?

Join us on Wednesday, May 19th from 1:30-3:00PM EST to learn about current HIPAA Privacy proposed rule changes, best practices and practical steps to reach compliance. Avail your organization of helpful documents and lessons learned to boost your organization’s preparedness.
