UPCOMING WEBINAR: Security Due Diligence for Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions
Mergers and acquisitions of different healthcare organizations are becoming quite common nowadays. In fact, according to the Healthcare Financial Management magazine, merger activity in the healthcare industry rose “108 percent year over year in the first quarter of 2015”. Although these mergers may be profitable, they introduce many significant challenges in the areas of security, privacy and compliance on a broad scale. These challenges cause healthcare organizations to be vulnerable, in an already turbulent cyber threat landscape where they are the prime targets.
Meditology has worked with healthcare entities across the country to build and execute security, privacy, and compliance integration strategies. This discussion will provide insights and leading practices to rapidly assess the security posture of acquired entities or new partners, and work diligently to synchronize company security policies, procedures, and technologies.
Lessons will include:
- How to methodically address risk and compliance exposures early in the process
- Ways to develop a Security and Compliance Integration strategy
- Identifying and managing high-risk exposures introduced by mergers and partnerships
